New Training Offers

De nouvelles formations à l'UMa

New training courses for the Bachelor’s, professional Masters, and university certificates have been made available this academic year in the University of Maroua. The Institution has thus hit the path towards maturity. After the Higher Teachers’ Training College (ENS), the Higher Institute of the Sahel (ISS), the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science, three other establishments have entered a second year of training. They include the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Faculty of Law and Political Science, and the Institute of Mines and Petroleum Industries, based in Kaele.

With the appointment, and later installation of their officials on 9 January 2015, these very new structures of the Institution opened their doors as from the year 2015. As from mid-January 2015, students of the Faculty of Economics and Management have been undergoing a training which is carried out in the form of a classical Economics and Management course, as well as a professional course in Management science. There are plans to open a doctoral training unit to satisfy the needs of the business world and university research.

In the Faculty of Law and Political Science, the beginning was marked by the commencement of a pre-undergraduate two-year cycle (capacité) in Law and Economics. The Bachelor and Doctorate cycles have been opened this year. According to the officials of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, this training has been introduced as a way of ensuring an implantation in the region, the goal being that of taking and converting, academically speaking, the specificities of the Sahel, to apply them as aspects of training. This is going to make a difference with the training in other classical universities.

This year, the innovation in the University of Maroua is the opening of a cycle for Design Engineering at the Institute of Mines and Petroleum Industries.
